New breeder phone consultation service launched
Eligible owners can book a phone consultation with an expert bloodstock professional.
The Thoroughbred Breeders’ Association (TBA) has launched a free phone consultation service to support prospective thoroughbred breeders.
It is intended to support racehorse filly and mare owners, those looking to purchase a broodmare, and people considering thoroughbred breeding at any level.
The service will see eligible owners and interested newcomers invited to book a free 30-minute telephone consultation with Joe Grimwade, an expert bloodstock professional. In an informal one-to-session, prospective breeders will learn the key aspects to help them get started with thoroughbred breeding.
Among the topics that can be discussed is topline analysis, racehorse filly suitability, and the key considerations when selecting a suitable stallion.
As well as providing personalised advice, Joe Grimwade will signpost callers towards relevant resources. This includes resources from TBA and TB-Ed, such as its Broodware Ownership Guide .
The TBA says that its new consultation service supports its initiative to make thoroughbred breeding more accessible for newcomers by offering practical, trusted advice.
Joe Grimwade said: “These consultations are designed to give people a straightforward opportunity to ask the practical questions that arise when considering breeding for the first time.
“That might include whether a filly or mare is suitable for breeding, understanding the likely costs involved, how to approach stallion selection or simply knowing what the next step should be. The aim is to provide impartial, practical advice and point people towards the right information and expertise to help them move forward with confidence.”
