UFAW announces eighth animal welfare science conference
"The conference is part of UFAW's ongoing commitment to improving animal welfare through increased scientific understanding of animals."
Virtual event promises an exciting line-up of speakers from across the world.

Animal welfare charity UFAW (The Universities Federation for Animal Welfare) has announced details of its eighth international conference on recent advances in animal welfare science.

Building on the success of previous conferences, this virtual event promises more than 40 presentations ranging from 'Are flat-faced dogs really unhealthier than other dogs' to the 'Development of tools for farmers to self-assess the welfare of their poultry and pigs.'

With a diverse and dynamic programme of speakers, it will also feature more than 110 thought-provoking poster presentations covering an array of animal species and topics.

A UFAW spokesperson said: “The conference is part of UFAW’s ongoing commitment to improving animal welfare through increased scientific understanding of animals’ needs and how best these can be met. These conferences are invaluable in bringing together scientists, veterinarians, policymakers and others from around the world to share knowledge, the latest advances and to exchange views and ideas.”

The event takes place on 29 and 30 June and, while it is free to attend, delegates are encouraged to make a donation to the UFAW. Full details are available at ufaw.org.uk/conf2021
