National Microchipping Month begins
National Microchipping Month 2013 launched on June 1, and is this year celebrating its 10th anniversary.
The campaign is run by microchipped pet database Petlog, and encourages responsible ownership through microchipping as a method of permanent pet identification.
This year's campaign coincides with new legislation to implement compulsory dog microchipping by April 2016.
Therefore Petlog, which is managed by the Kennel Club, is encouraging veterinary practices to hold a microchipping event to raise client awareness of the new legislation, as well as the importance of checking their contact details are up-to-date.
Veterinary practices can request a free pack for their microchipping event through the Petlog website.
