SEVC Research Abstracts Deadline announced
Deadlines for the submission of research abstracts have been announced by the organisers of the 2012 Southern European Veterinary Conference (SEVC).
Veterinarians are invited to submit abstracts in two formats:
- The first is a free communication relating to either prospective or retrospective clinical research.
- The second is a clinical case study presenting new or alternative information of interest to small animal or exotic animal clinicians. Case studies should be based on three or more clinical cases of the same disease.
All abstracts must be presented in poster format and full details and guidelines for submission are provided on the SEVC website at www.sevc.info. The deadline for submitting abstracts is 16 May 2012. Awards will be made for the best free communication, the best case study and the best recent graduate presentation.
Now in its sixth year, the SEVC is set to take place from Thursday 18th to Sunday 20th October 2012 in Barcelona. The event, which has rapidly established itself as a key landmark in the European veterinary calendar, attracted 5,000 participants in 2011 and featured more than 200 lectures and an exhibition attended by 120 exhibitors.
Commenting on plans for SEVC 2012, Joaquin Aragones, Vet Med and Executive Director of the event, said: “The positive feedback we received following SEVC 2011 showed that it is going from strength to strength and fast becoming a ‘don’t miss’ event for veterinarians in Europe and beyond.
"The popularity of the poster presentations was clear last year with over 200 high quality entries received. We’re hoping for even more this year and look forward to reviewing the entries.
He added: "We’re currently finalising details of the main conference which will, as usual, include a comprehensive scientific programme with leading speakers from around the world; practical workshop sessions; an international veterinary nursing programme and a strong focus on practice management.”
“Our aim is to provide an event which offers top notch Continuing Education in a stunning location and which also provides a unique opportunity to network with thought leaders and peers from around the world. We look forward to welcoming delegates to this year’s SEVC.”
All lectures are provided in English and Spanish with simultaneous translation. Some rooms will also offer translation into Polish and Russian. Full details of how to register, including early bird rates are at www.sevc.info .
