BVNA Congress Packed With Exhibitors
Exhibitors from companies all over the UK flock to BVNA Congress.

Delegates attending the BVNA Congress this weekend will be able to visit an extensive exhibition of companies tailored to meet the needs of veterinary nurses.

The Congress features a host of exhibits from companies varying from charities like Dogs Trust and the Blue Cross, to sister associations, such as the British Small Animal Veterinary Association, to service companies, such as Central Veterinary Services.

The new veterinary nursing qualification, the Diploma in Veterinary Nursing (DipVN),  launched by Central Qualifications, will be featured at the exhibition.

Jacqui Garrett, Director of Central Qualifications, commented: "CQ are really excited to have a place at such a vibrant congress, which offers such a great mix of exhibits and lectures."

She added: "We're hoping for lots of visitors!"

BVNA Congress takes place at Kettering Conference Centre, Northamptonshire, from the 7th to the 9th October 2011.

Annual submission deadline small pet animal exemptions

 Companies marketing medicines for small pets exempt from authorisation must submit their annual return to the Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) by 30 November 2026.

Submitting this annual return ensures continued compliance with regulatory requirements for products marketed without a full Marketing Authorisation. The exemption specifically applies to products intended for animals, cage birds, terrarium animals, small rodents, ferrets and rabbits.

BVA urges 'continued vigilance' over bluetongue

The British Veterinary Association (BVA) has urged vigilance following a concerning rise in Bluetongue (BTV) cases in sheep and cattle.

In a recent statement, the BVA noted that members are reporting more severe clinical signs and higher mortality rates than in previous years.

'We know that farm vets are working hard to support farmers and animals affected by this outbreak, during what is an extremely difficult time for all involved,' they stated. 'Continued vigilance to identify disease early is vital and vaccination remains the best way of protecting animals from this disease.'
