PHPSESSID - (Strictly necessary)

iPad app - (Functionality)

If the website is viewed on an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, the user will be offered the functionality of the iOS application that we have developed.

If the user would like to view the website instead, a cookie will be placed with the value='1' with a month expiry date.
This will be used to check if the user would prefer to visit the website instead.

The New Tax Year

The new tax year has begun and a number of changes have come into force, which may affect your finances.

Perhaps one of the biggest changes is a new income tax of 50% which will affect those on taxable incomes greater than £150,000.

Other changes include an increase in pension allowance, a reduction in the number of years of NI payments to qualify for basic state pension, a larger tax-free limit on ISAs and alterations to maternity and paternity leave.

Voting opens for BEVA Council

BVA urges 'continued vigilance' over bluetongue

The British Veterinary Association (BVA) has urged vigilance following a concerning rise in Bluetongue (BTV) cases in sheep and cattle.

In a recent statement, the BVA noted that members are reporting more severe clinical signs and higher mortality rates than in previous years.

'We know that farm vets are working hard to support farmers and animals affected by this outbreak, during what is an extremely difficult time for all involved,' they stated. 'Continued vigilance to identify disease early is vital and vaccination remains the best way of protecting animals from this disease.'
