BSAVA Congress – There's an App for That!
Two screen shots from the app.
Visitors to BSAVA Congress 2010 can navigate the commercial exhibition stands and lectures more effectively this year, thanks to a free iPhone app developed exclusively by leading IT provider, AT Veterinary Systems.

The ‘Congress App’ is the latest in a long line of developments from AT this year. Constantly striving to embrace all the best that modern technology has to offer for both Mac and PCs, AT has spent thousands of programming hours enhancing existing products and developing new ones. The release of the Congress App is the fifth successive release of software by AT Veterinary Systems within the last six months and marks a prolific year of development for the company. AT’s latest software releases include VISION Email Server, Insurance Claims Manager and the latest SPECTRUM Release (1L), which delivers literally hundreds of enhanced and extra features. Further products are also in the pipeline and will also be launched at this year’s BSAVA.

Jacqui Garrett, Business Development Manager at AT Veterinary Systems says: “It's great to be able to provide so many products that improve the clinical and managerial aspects of veterinary practices while also increasing profitability in a difficult economic climate.”

The Congress App is a very small example of the development undertaken by AT this year. Including key features such as floor plans of the ICC and the NIA, a list of all the exhibitors and stand locations, details of the presentations being held and the ability for users to create a customised list of ‘favourite’ lectures, this app provides visitors with important information at their fingertips.

New form for online veterinary medicines retailers

The Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) has produced a new online form for retailers wishing to sell veterinary medicines on the internet.

The form replace the previous Word version and is part of the VMD's ongoing commitment to digitise its processes. Anyone retailing prescription medicines online, including POM-V, POM-VPS and NFA-VPS categories, is lawfully required to register with the VMD before trading.

The change only applies to new applicants. Retailers already listed on the VMD's Register of Online Retailers or registered under the Accredited Internet Retailer Scheme (AIRS) do not need to do anything.
