Funding boost to fight illegal wildlife trade

Fourteen projects to combat the trade in illegal wildlife have have received £4.5 million in government funding.
The Illegal Wildlife Trade Challenge Fund projects aim to prevent wildlife being trafficked or illegally traded through measures including demand reduction, strengthening enforcement and criminal justice, and providing alternative livelihoods.
They include a ‘payback’ scheme for the perpetrators of illegal wildlife trade and the development of best practice guidelines for the storage of illegal ivory.



The RCVS has announced a new version of its 1CPD mobile app, with enhanced features for veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses to record their continuing professional development.
