Product recall due to packaging damage
Versele-Laga has issued a recall for Ornicure 150mg/g doxycycline powder for oral solution.
Versele-Laga recalls batches of Ornicure 

The Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) is making wholesalers aware that the manufacturer, Versele-Laga, has issued a recall for Ornicure 150mg/g doxycycline powder for oral solution.

Stability tests have shown that some bags of the 200g packaging of the product could be minimally damaged. Batches of the product are being recalled with immediate effect to wholesaler level.

Ornicure is used for racing pigeons and cage birds to treat respiratory tract infections, ornithosis, psittacosis and ocular infections caused by Chlamydia psittaci or mycoplasma.

The following batch numbers are affected:
  • 16L16741 (expiry date: 12-2019)
  • 16L19742 (expiry date: 12-2019)
  • 16L15739 (expiry date: 12-2019)

Dechra launches checklist for veterinary sustainability

Global animal health specialist Dechra has announced the world's first Veterinary Green Theatre Checklist (VGTC) to help make surgery more sustainable.

Endorsed by leading veterinary organisations, including the BEVA, BVNA and RCVS Knowledge, the checklist is designed to reduce the environmental footprint of veterinary care, while supporting better animal health outcomes.
