Support for students extended

NOTTINGHAM University's Veterinary Society has a new official partner in the form of a large corporate group.

Merged joint venture group Vets4Pets and Companion Care will sponsor the students' society for the coming academic year.

Gary England, dean of Nottingham vet school, said: "The Nottingham Veterinary Society plays a crucial role in both academic and social activities of veterinary students at the Sutton Bonington campus. It is essential the society has adequate support and I am delighted to see that Vets4Pets has agreed to provide sponsorship for this academic year; undoubtedly this will see the society continue to flourish.”

According to a statement from the joint venture group, the merger resulted in the resource to run, develop and host more events and projects aimed at supporting veterinary students. The company aims to provide more support with lectures, seminars and advice on job hunting and CV writing. It also said that plans were in place to extend support to all the UK veterinary schools through activities including the delivery of business seminars to veterinary undergraduates.

Graeme McConnell, the group's head of partnerships south, said: "The close relationship we have with Nottingham vet school is very unique and we love supporting the students in any way we can, we look forward to supporting even more universities in the future."
