Brooke announces latest fundraising campaign.
International animal charity Brooke is calling on its supporters to walk 62 miles this October and raise funds to help build a better future for working equines.
Taking place between 1 and 31 October 2026, the Walk 62 Miles Challenge is inspired by the devastating impact of the global donkey skin trade — a practice threatening donkey populations and the communities that rely on them.
The challenge is free to join and it can be completed anywhere, at any pace. Zoe Francis, fundraising officer at Brooke, said:
“More than six million donkeys are killed for their skins each year, devastating animals and the communities that depend on them. Funds raised will help protect donkeys from theft, support action against traffickers and provide emergency care for rescued animals.
“Together, we can walk towards a future where donkeys are safe from the skin trade”.
