Yard supervisor describes the rescue as “incredibly rewarding”
A veterinary team has saved the life of an orphan foal who was found abandoned at just two weeks old.
Noodles, a tiny skewbald cob, was taken in by World Horse Welfare’s Hall Farm Rescue and Rehoming Centre in July 2024. Upon arrival, the charity’s veterinary team believed he may not have received enough colostrum, making him particularly vulnerable to illness.
Months of round-the-clock care and hand-rearing ensued and, thanks to the team’s dedication, Noodles grew stronger and blossomed into a happy, healthy young pony. He also formed a firm friendship with fellow youngster Tintin, learning vital social skills along the way.
Yard supervisor Viki Cooper said: “Noodles was incredibly small and vulnerable when he arrived, and there were times when we were really worried about him. Orphan foals need constant care, so our team worked around the clock to give him the best chance possible. Seeing him now, healthy and full of character, is incredibly rewarding.”
Now, having overcome his difficult start in life, Noodles is ready to find his forever home.
Rehoming coordinator Rachel Blake said: “His character really came out once he started to feel better. Noodles has grown into an inquisitive, playful little pony, which is brilliant to see after his sorry start in life”
“Noodles is a curious, friendly pony who loves people and is always first to greet you in the field. We'd love to find him a home with another young pony where he can continue to learn, play and enjoy the future he deserves.”
