BVNA announces incoming officer team
"I am immensely proud to be stepping into the presidential role from this October." - Steph Worsley.
The incoming president of the British Veterinary Nursing Association (BVNA) has said she is ‘immensely proud’ to begin her presidency in October this year.
Steph Worsley RVN, whose officer team has recently been announced, will take on the role at this year’s BVNA Congress on Saturday, 10 October 2026.
Ms Worsley, currently junior vice-president, said: "I am immensely proud to be stepping into the presidential role from this October.
“Having been a BVNA member for more than 20 years, and subsequently volunteered for BVNA in a variety of capacities over the past 18 years, I am looking forward to applying this experience to serve BVNA members and the veterinary nursing profession to the very best of my ability.
“It will also be an honour to take up this role supported by such an enthusiastic officer team, alongside our wider BVNA Council, who all share a strong drive to champion veterinary nurses at every opportunity."
Following her 2025/2026 term, Sarah Holliday RVN will step down as BVNA president into her next role as senior vice-president.
Ms Holliday said: “The officer team is made up of dedicated veterinary nurses who have willingly taken on a more senior role within BVNA Council, committing to additional time and responsibility to support BVNA. It is a privilege to work alongside all the passionate RVNs and SVNs who sit on BVNA Council, and who volunteer their time to wholeheartedly champion the veterinary nursing profession.”
"As we welcome a new officer team, I would also like to recognise the significant contributions made by current officers, senior vice president Lyndsay Hughes and honorary secretary Nikki McLeod, whose terms come to an end in October. Their impact on BVNA, and on veterinary nursing, will be felt for a long time to come."
Hamish Morrin RVN is to become BVNA’s next junior vice-president. Meanwhile Declan Jones will be the new chair of Membership Committee and Macauly Gatenby becomes chair of Congress and Events Committee.
The incoming officer team will be presented at the BVNA Annual General Meeting for ratification, which takes place during BVNA Congress.
