Donations pour in for Battersea's Paul O'Grady tribute fund
Paul O'Grady was an ambassador for Battersea Dogs and Cats Home.
Members of the public have donated more than £200,000 to a tribute fund set up by Battersea Dogs and Cats Home following the death of Paul O’Grady.
The presenter and comedian had been closely associated with Battersea since the first series of For the Love of Dogs was broadcast in 2012. A keen animal-lover, O’Grady became an ambassador for the charity and rehomed six dogs from their centres.
In a statement to PA Media, Battersea’s chief executive Peter Laurie said: “We have been overwhelmed and touched by the countless letters, calls, emails and messages of support along with the generous donations made by kind members of the public this week.
“We will be looking to find a suitably fitting way to remember the profound impact Paul had at Battersea and the rescue animal sector, something that will support the animals that Paul loved so much and that would make him proud.”
Zoetis is to present a CPD event for free to members of the British Veterinary Nursing Association (BVNA).
