Jurox launches anaesthesia CPD platform
The course accounts for four hours of CPD.
Resource aims to improve confidence and overall standards.

A new online CPD platform has been launched by animal health firm, Jurox as part of its Anaesthesia Academy.

In a press release, the company said the platform had been launched 'to improve confidence and overall standards in veterinary anaesthesia and support its extensive anaesthesia and analgesia portfolio'.

It added that the new Jurox Anaesthesia Academy CPD platform aims to help veterinary surgeons and nurses refresh and improve their knowledge on premeditating patients and improve induction, maintenance and recovery protocols.

Taking the form of an exclusive mini-series, the resource accounts for four hours of CPD divided into six bite-sized sessions. Veterinary professionals can choose to complete the course on-demand at a time that suits them.

“We are committed to developing unique and world-class anaesthesia and analgesic products and practices within the animal health industry through the provision of up-to-date technical support and education,” commented Suzy Ramsay, head of sales and marketing at Jurox (UK) Limited.

“Our new Jurox Anaesthesia Academy CPD platform will enable veterinary professionals to adopt an evidence-based approach to their anaesthetic product choice and, in turn, help achieve the best possible anaesthetic outcomes for their patients.”

Dr Dan Cripwell, an advanced veterinary practitioner and senior veterinary technical advisor at Jurox, presents the course.

Participants are invited to take a quiz at the end of each module and will be able to download a CPD certificate once completed, with links to further reading. For more information, visit cpd.jurox.co.uk

CVS Group hit by cyber attack

CVS Group, which owns more than 450 veterinary practices in the UK, has been hit by a cyber attack.

In a statement, the group said the incident involved unauthorised external access to a limited number of its IT systems. As soon as the attack was discovered, the group took its IT systems temporarily offline, causing 'considerable operational disruption'.

It has warned that the security steps taken and ongoing plans to move its operational systems and IT infrastructure to the Cloud are likely to have an ongoing impact over a number of weeks.

Due to the risk that personal information was accessed, CVS has informed the Information Commissioner's Office. The company is working with third party consultants to investigate the incident.
