BSAVA dispensing course goes virtual
The course provides the latest information on medicines regulations.
Course provides the latest information on medicines regulations.

BSAVA's popular dispensing course has been moved online due to the restrictions surrounding COVID-19.

The course, which is suitable for all veterinary professionals, will take place on Thursday, 6 November 2020. Its announcement coincides with news that the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme assessments will now be delivered remotely.

Course organiser Pam Mosedale said: “We are very excited to be able to deliver the BSAVA Dispensing Course online and still allow for interaction between speakers and delegates in the live session. With Practice Standards and VMD visits restarting, it is fantastic that we are still able to support practices in these difficult times by ensuring they are complying with the Veterinary Medicines Regulations.”

The course provides the latest information on medicines regulations and helps veterinary practices manage their dispensaries. It will cover key aspects of dispensing, including an overview and update on legislation, using the cascade and the storing and disposal of medicines.

Tutors Pam Mosedale, Donal Murphy, Michael Stanford, Mike Jessop and John Millward will deliver lectures via webinars throughout the day, which concludes with a live-streamed interactive Q&A session. There will also be sessions covering controlled drugs, dispensing mishaps and what to expect from an inspection.
